Clayton County has the fourth busiest Magistrate Court in the state of Georgia. That is the court which issues arrest warrants on criminal and civil charges, as well as search warrants for law enforcement officers. When an active warrant has been issued, it goes to the Sheriff's Office, where officers of the Tactical Warrant Services Staff execute it and arrest the suspect. Because of the size of Clayton County, the sheriff's department has divided the area into eight zones and assigned deputies not only from Tactical Warrant Services but also from the Special Victims Unit and Community Relations. These officers all work together to handle the crimes committed in their zone.
The Sheriff's Department worked with the Clayton County Department of Information Technology to create an interactive map showing the location of active and outstanding arrest warrants, both for felonies and misdemeanors, as well as registered sex offenders in each zone of the county. It is searchable by either the street name, the offender's last name, or the type of offense. It also includes contact information for the deputies in charge of the zone. If you like to access the map, it is located at http://weba.co.clayton.ga.us/sheriffmaps/sheriff/. They also post a list of Most Wanted suspects on the sheriff department website, found at http://www.claytonpolice.com/MostWanted.htm. Furthermore, the sheriff's department has created a service where citizens may search online for information on inmates, either by the inmate's last name, or by his or her booking date if it occurred within the last forty-eight hours, fourteen days, or thirty-one days. This inmate information database can be found at http://www.claytoncountyga.gov/departments/public-safety/sheriff/inmate-.... The Magistrate Court is located at 9151 Tara Boulevard, Jonesboro, GA, 30236, and is open from 7:30 AM to 5:00 PM Monday through Friday. You can search for information on either a criminal or civil court case, either by the names of those involved or by the case number, in a database found online at http://www.claytoncountyga.gov/courts/court-case-inquiry.aspx.
