Crime Statistics of Troup County, GA

In 2019, the Troup Sheriff’s Office received around 850 criminal complaints, as opposed to the more than 2500 cases received in 2018. These included around 780 property crimes and 70 violent crimes.

The property crimes category included over 610 larceny thefts, 110 burglaries, and 51 motor vehicle thefts. The violent crimes category included around 50 aggravated assaults and 15 robberies, among others.

Between 1999 and 2008, crimes in Troup County, Georgia, fell by 4% overall; however, violent crimes rose by 44%. During that time, a total of 27,868 crimes (one crime every three hours) were committed; however, the vast majority of the crimes (74%) were related to theft. Only 18 cases of murder were reported during that time, which accounted for the lowest percentage of any criminal activity within Troup County.
