Crime Statistics of Coweta County, GA

The Coweta Sheriff’s Office handled well over 3100 criminal complaints in 2019, compared to 2500 in 2018. Of these, over 2000 were property offenses and more than 1000 were violent offenses, which was an unusually high rate of violent offenses. The reported crimes included:

  • 737 aggravated assaults
  • 74 rapes
  • 33 robberies
  • 10 homicides

Between the years of 2008 and 2010, there were just over 8,000 crimes committed in Coweta County. They included larcenies, vehicle thefts, robberies, burglaries, assaults, rapes, and murders. In 2008, almost 3,000 crimes were committed; by the following year, the number dropped to slightly more than 2,000. However, in 2010 the crime rate rose again, and the total number reached more than 3,000 crimes. This is a sobering trend in terms of crime rates in Coweta County, GA.
