In Douglas County, Georgia, the Magistrate Court issues arrest warrants; when a judge issued the warrant in the Magistrate Court, the Clerk of Superior Court’s Office puts the information into the Sustain system online. The clerk provides a user ID and password to provide access for law enforcement officials. The law enforcement officers in the Douglas County sheriff’s office process and serve the warrants, and then when arrests are made, they transmit the warrants back to the Clerk for a judge to be assigned to the case. The Clerk will send the warrant to the District Attorney or Solicitor General, who will present the Grand Jury case. At that point, the Clerk will assign a case number.

Before the suspect is apprehended, the Warrant Division of the sheriff’s office serves the active warrants and maintains outstanding warrants.
