In Decatur County, GA, the local sheriff’s office’s court services division makes an official request for the issue of an active arrest warrant. Apart from this, bench warrants are received and executed by this wing of the law enforcement agency.

The sheriff’s office is responsible for apprehending, processing, and presenting the accused in court. Hence, it is normal for them to have arrest warrants in hardcopy as well as electronic forms. On the other hand, the magistrate’s court and the county clerk’s office only retain soft copies of the outstanding warrants until such time that the order is executed and sent back to the issuing authority.

To contact the sheriff’s office, you will have to visit them in person at 912 Spring Creek RdBainbridge, Georgia 39817. While there for a warrant search, also see the Criminal Investigations Division for information on ongoing investigations. Generally, the police will be reluctant to divulge information on active arrest warrants, particularly those issued in sensitive matters and violent felony cases.

The Clerk of Court of Decatur County maintains all records for cases heard by the tribunals in the area. The county clerk’s office is also located at PO Box 336, Bainbridge, Georgia 31717. The agency works from Monday through Friday during business hours, so feel free to visit them then and request access to their database of court dockets.

Leave the magistrate’s court for the last as the sheriff’s office and the county clerk’s department will be able to offer more extensive information on the subject of your inquiry. To visit the magistrate’s court, go to 112 W Water St, Bainbridge, GA 39817.
